~ Pro Robin Smith!!
WCS Workshops, Dinner & Illumination Dance
 CSDS welcomes Raleigh pro, Robin Smith, to Charlottesville
for a weekend full of great dance opportunities! Many of you already
know Robin from attending dance comps in the DC area and for those
of you who don't, you're in for a real treat! Robin will teach 3
afternoon workshops in West Coast Swing, attend our Catered Dinner and
then DJ our Illumination
Dance, all on Saturday, February 19th! Robin is also
available to give privates (singles or couples!) Friday through
Sunday ~ to schedule your private with Robin, contact Larry
Saunders.
Robin has been dancing, teaching and competing in dance as well as
judging nationally and regionally for over 25 years. For the past 12
years he has concentrated exclusively on West Coast Swing, studying with
only the very best in the business.
Among his accomplishments are numerous 1st Place titles and many top 5
placements at events all across the nation including a 3rd place finish
at the prestigious US Open Swing Dance Championships in 2003. He
currently competes at the All Star / Invitational and Champions Level.
Robin is certified under Michael Kiehm's IPDIA
at the Instructor/ Examiner level (Highest Level) and is also affiliated
with Skippy Blair's GSDTA. Never satisfied that what he already knows is
enough, he works tirelessly to keep up with current trends and techniques
in the global west coast swing community. He has won more top
teacher awards than can be noted.
With a diverse professional background in music,
dance and martial arts Robin has a unique understanding of body movement
and how it relates to music and he takes great pride in his ability to
improve the overall level of West Coast Swing where ever his travels take
him.
A serious teacher for serious students
Robin teaches full time and would love to share his vast knowledge of and
passion for west coast swing with you.

Time to Elect 2011-2012 Board of Directors
Coming up next month
... time to elect Board of Directors for CSDS! Elections will
take place at our March dance and it's never too early to think about who
YOU would like to see be next year's Board of Directors! Being a BOD
is NOT a commitment to being present at every dance and/or Swing Swap;
rather, it is sharing the responsibility of organizing (which includes
getting volunteers and delegating!) these functions.
CSDS is an
all-volunteer run club governed by 5-7 Board of Directors and a handful
of Helpers. Would you like to have a voice in CSDS? Is event
organizing one of your strengths? Or would you like to be a part of
a group of people making a difference in a lot of others'
lives?! Then CSDS is for you :-) To nominate someone
