Swing Swap returns
to Murray High School in September. The exact date has yet to be
determined, so make sure to check the CSDS website before
you head out.
Thank you to Al and Alyssa Lundgren of The Dance Oasis for
hosting Swing Swap during the summer! Please be sure to check out
their schedule for classes and dances!
Thanks, also, to Albemarle County Parks & Rec for their
continuing partnership with CSDS. For many years now, they've
allowed us to hold Swing Swap at County venues (free!) during the school
year and helped to promote our club and Swing Swap. CSDS Member
and former Board of Director, Kristin Wenger,
is the County's Swing Dance Instructor Extraordinaire - Kristin's classes
start up in a few weeks so join the hundreds of people who've been
through her classes and sign up here!

In case you haven't heard by now, CSDS dances will be held
at a new venue for the next six months, starting with our September
dance! Our new home is the beautiful terrace level Fellowship Room
of Unity Church,
located at 2825 Hydraulic Circle,
off of Hydraulic Road, just past the intersection where Albemarle High
School is located as you are heading towards Earlysville. CSDS
Prez Larry Saunders took some photos of the approach from both directions
and we'll also put out a "sandwich board" with BALLOONS
at the entrance to help you find it!

Competition Update ...
Charlottesville/Central Virginia area dancers had a blast at
Barry Durand's Swing Fling last
month. Some of us competed for the first time and all of us
enjoyed the performances, workshops and social dancing the weekend had to
offer. Competition results are here. Check
out some of C'ville's finest getting their groove on:

The next area
dance event is Barry's Virginia State Open (VSO)
in November. And if you feel like heading south, a few C'ville
dancers are going to Tampa Bay Classic November
12th-15th!!
