Last month, Eddie, his daughter and I went
to Norway where Eddie's family lives. Some of you have
met his parents, Reidar & Sonja (who love to dance!), when they've
been here to visit us. The weather was wonderful
(60's-70's!) and the days long. We had a blast spending
time with the extended Karoliussen family and doing fun things like go to
the amusement park, take the ferry to Sweden to go shopping (seriously,
it's cheaper there!), shopping and plenty of sightseeing.
We also reconnected with some West Coast Swing dancers we
met there two summers ago, thanks to Facebook. One night we
took the train to Lillestrom for some dancing in the middle of a
pedestrian mall and another night we danced on the deck at Aker Brygge,
overlooking the Oslo Harbor. West Coast Swing is big in
some parts of Europe and in Norway, is gaining popularity. We can't
wait to go back!

Highlights from the July Dance
Thanks to all who came to our July dance with DJ Aidan
Keith-Hynes and lesson instructors Al & Alyssa Lundgren of The Dance
Oasis (our summer home for Swing Swap!). Next month, Kristin
Wenger returns for double duty to DJ our dance and teach the
pre-dance lessons in West Coast Swing ~ 6:30 pm Beginner lesson,
7:15 pm Intermediate lesson. Our dance is 8-11 pm. All at the
MAC - see you then!
