2009-2010 Board of Directors Election
Cast Your Vote at the March
Dance
Yes, it's that time of
year again ... time to elect Board of Directors for
2009-2010! Make your voice heard by attending the March
dance to cast your vote. CSDS is an all-volunteer
run club governed by 5-7 Board of Directors whose
responsibility it is to conduct club business in a
professional manner according to our Bylaws.
Once elected, the Directors choose Officers and divide up the
responsibilities and tasks of running the Club.
Any CSDS member is eligible to run for office. Lisa
Morales and John Robertson comprise the Nominating
Committee. Please contact one of them if you are
interested in running or know of someone to
suggest. |
Highlights from
the Jason Barnes Workshops + Illumination Dance
Guest instructor,
national pro/competitor Jason Barnes and his wife,
Amy, wowed Charlottesville on their first visit to our
dance community. They taught 4 well-attended
workshops in Hustle and West Coast Swing! We hope
Jason and Amy will grace us with their presence again
soon. Special thanks to all who pitched in to make this
weekend a memorable one.

Charlottesville native and 2-time US Open Champion, Patti
Jobst! Patti will be here in
April to give workshops, privates and DJ our dance on
Saturday, April 18th at the MAC. Stay tuned for more

CSDS's FREE Weekly Dance
Practice
CSDS hosts a FREE weekly dance
practice called Swing
Swap*!! If you are like most, you need to practice
what you learn in dance class in order to retain it so come on
out and practice your new moves while they are fresh in your
mind so they can become a permanent part of your dance
repertoire! Swing Swap is held on Thursdays* from 7:30 -
9 pm at the Murray High School Gym. It's "Open House"
style so arrive at any time. DJ Lisa Morales plays a
variety of music ~ East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Hustle,
Nightclub 2-Step, Country 2-Step, Cha Cha, Waltz, etc.
Swing Swap is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for
practice. All are welcome, with or without
partners, any level of experience!
* In case of inclement weather, Swing Swap is cancelled
if Albemarle County Public Schools close. Check for
cancellations and/or subscribe here. |
