| Jennifer Lyons Returns February 15-17th!!
Illumination Dance (Saturday), 8-11 pm
Afternoon Workshops, Dinner/Dance, Privates ...
 CSDS is pleased to announce the return of National Instructor & Competitor and US Open Champion, Jennifer Lyons! On Saturday afternoon, Jennifer will teach 4 workshops (1 Hustle & 3 West Coast Swing) starting at 2:30 pm. She'll also join us for our catered dinner preceding our dance that night. Our February dance is our annual Illumination Dance! What's that?! That means lights, lights, lights! Bring/wear your own illumination accessories such as blinking or glow-in-the-dark rings, bracelets, necklaces. Maybe the Booty Couple Eddie K & Adela will wear their cheesy bling-bling LED message belts again?! We'll also have illumination accessories on hand to give out. Come one, come all and let there be LIGHT!! |

Congratulations to CSDS member Donna Arehart and Gary Chovan who said their wedding vows last fall while on a Caribbean cruise! Donna and Gary met at a CSDS dance 13 years ago. Donna served on the founding board of CSDS and has been a member ever since; she is also Editor of the Central VA Dance News and former President of USA Dance Charlottesville. Gary works at JABA and is currently enrolled in PVCC's nursing program.

Sgt. Dakota Withers sends us greetings from Camp Taji, outside of Baghdad, where he is the Head Medic for his platoon. Dakota and fellow CSDS member Karen Zavada were married this past summer before his deployment. He misses Charlottesville and dancing and would love to hear from you (Dakota Withers, 237th Eng Co, #6018, APO AE 09378 or email).

Need to Practice?! Come to Swing Swap!!
.. it's FREE ... every Thursday ... no partner necessary ...
CSDS hosts a FREE weekly dance practice called Swing Swap*!! If you are like most people, you need to practice what you learn in dance class in order to retain it. Come on out and practice your new moves while they are fresh in your mind so they can become a permanent part of your dance repertoire! Swing Swap is held on Thursdays* from 7:30 - 9 pm at the Murray High School Gym, located at 1200 Forest Street (off the north side of Preston Avenue, between Rose Hill Drive and Harris Street). DJ Lisa Morales plays a variety of music ~ East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Nightclub 2-Step, Country 2-Step, Cha Cha, Waltz, etc. Swing Swap is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for practice. All are welcome, with or without partners, any level of experience!
